What do you do?
Where do you go?
First of all, I suggest you stop doing and going anywhere outside of yourself and go within. That may feel strange, but as a society, we have learned to not trust our intuition or quiet voice inside who is asking for rest, self-compassion and self-care. We often do not even know what self-care is! And it is not the mani and pedi!!
I often start with a hot bath of Epsoms Salts with Wintergreen and Cypress Essential Oils. Not only does that combination smell and feel amazing, but Wintergreen has salicylic acid which is anti-inflammatory and pain-reducing and Cypress supports lymphatic drainage, which helps with detoxification.
Following a bath, light a candle, wrap up or “cocoon” and perhaps journal what bubbles up. Don’t’ judge it, just write, taking whatever is going on inside and placing it outside, clearing space for healing. Perhaps play some soothing music to allow sound to move the energy.
When you feel calm, restful, consider looking at your timeline of the healing crisis/crises. When did it begin? What was going on in your life? What were the symptoms? Any diagnostics that, in particular, resonate with you or did it all feel like a foreign language, not necessarily applicable to you but more of the “check off the box” for a diagnosis from a well-meaning provider?
We welcome you to bring this internal assessment and self-inquiry to us because that is what we ask of you – your history, your physical, emotional and spiritual challenges – so that we may partner with you, co-creating a healing journey that is personalized and flexible, based upon your needs.
We will suggest beginning with a simple whole foods, nourishing eating plan.
We will recommend that you be in nature for at least 15-20 minutes daily.
We will suggest healthy movement – perhaps you enjoy the gym or you may prefer walking and biking, but remember we all need to move each day
We will support your sleep hygiene – without rest, there is no healing, only inflammation
And we may recommend supplement support for your body, bringing it back to its innate state of dynamic balance (homeostasis).
Most of all, we will be your partner in this journey.
