Now that is a mouthful!
September is a month of transition gearing up for the year and in my world, it is also the beginning of more CEU (continuing education) opportunities including summits, webinars – and because I’m like a kid in the candy store minus the candy when it comes to learning, I listen across multiple disciplines, gathering nuggets to bring back to our clients and colleagues alike.
A common thread amongst all was the need for safe and effective DETOX! We are a population riddled with overload of toxins on every level – toxic food, cleaning products, clothing and furniture, water etc and toxic media fueling the fear to keep people “frozen”, unable to think and act for themselves in nurturing ways and spiritually with such divisiveness in our religious institutions. It’s as if we are puppets on a string!
Now what do all of these have to do with one another?
Orange is a color that signifies creativity, sexual and feminine energies (second chakra), is more of a grounded, close to root energy and in the nutrition world, orange foods supply pro-vitamin A which is critical for immune health and DETOX! How can one have strong immunity if the poor liver is overloaded and cannot rid the body (which then affects the mind) of toxic overload.
Orange foods – butternut and acorn squash, carrots, bell peppers, mango – all are part of the theme to honor our feminine energy and to support detox. When I look at my genetics, my detox is slower than ideal. And in fact, I have struggled with female hormone imbalance for much of my life until I learned about functional medicine and epigenetics. And I’ve been challenged with immune conditions as well since childhood, culminating in a rare leukemia diagnosed in 2012. But guess what? I am healthier now at age 66 than I was in my teens and 20s because I do “take my own medicine” and that includes assessing my physical, emotional and spiritual balance and taking action accordingly.
At Intrinsic Wholeness, Denise and I create a supportive environment to foster ideal wellbeing on all levels and we’d love for you to join us to support your ongoing healing process.
